Combining ancient food traditions and modern technology, we have revived a lost food tradition. Try them for yourself.
This oil is pressed from wild, hand collected, acorn and hickory nuts. Unlike most commercials oils you purchase today, this oil is fresh and has not had its flavor and smell filtered out. Use it to make one of the best salad dressings you have ever made. Use it in stir fries and baking. Dip your fine artisan bread in our oil. All ways I have ever used these oils, I have liked. The Acorn Oil will turn your dish a lovely reddish/orangish color, much like Red Palm Oil.
Hickory oil is most similar to pecan oil so it tolerates heat well but not quite as high of heat because we do not ultra-filter it, which gets rid of flavor and smell. Under refrigeration, acorn and hickory oil will retain its fresh flavor for over a year from bottling.
Keep refrigerated, even before opening. Because this oil is not fractionated, you may notice some "clumping" or solidification, especially at the bottom of the oil bottle. This is normal and will dissolve at room temperature.
