Handmade using ancient Slavic methods.  No needle is used in the construction of these dolls.  Instead, the doll’s body and limbs are achieved through winding the fabric, always clockwise, east-to-west, and knotting with red thread.  Clothing is then added using the same wrapping and knotting methods.  Most importantly, the creator of these dolls thinks only good and positive thoughts during the process of making them, as it is believed that these will carry the energy of the dollmaker.  The result is a doll traditionally thought to be an amulet for protection, an ephemeral doll for play, or home decor.
